Welcome to the New Look

I've had this new blog home for a while but haven't been using it much at all. The idea was to have a home for longer form, more thoughtful writing. You know, the kind of stuff that social media sites suck at.

I'll mostly be writing about politics, economics, AI, and a few other subjects. Hopefully bringing some of my own expertise into the picture, as limited as it may be.

One thing you'll see shortly is that I've built this site to support "Scrollytelling". This is the thing that you'll see on sites like the New York Times, where as you scroll, images, animations, etc, will flow in and out. I've got a couple articles in the works that will show that off. With any luck it will turn a long boring read into many small boring reads!

A Word on AI

In full disclosure, I'm using AI heavily with this site. The site itself was all built with AI. I am using some AI tooling to help me assemble the posts, especially with the scrolling ones. What it is not doing is the writing.

For example, in my upcoming post on GDP, you'll see a bunch of charts. The tooling to show the charts was built by AI. I used AI to help me pull in financial data to feed into the charts. The rest is me.
